Ievads: Celiakija ir multifaktoriālu etioloģisku faktoru izraisīta eneteropātija ģenētiski predisponētiem indivīdiem. Ģenētiskas predispozīcijas pārklašanās rezultātā celiakijas izplatību konstatē kombinācijā ar vairākām autoimūnām slimībām, piemēram, autoimūnu hepatītu, Šegrēna sindromu, autoimūnu tireoidītu (AIT) un pirmā tipa cukura diabētu (CD). Experimental analysis of the contact pressure distribution in an off-road tyre

In this paper the results of experimental tests are shown, lead by extended method of measurement, on a tire for an off-road vehicle 175/82 R16, inserting Prescale paper at the contact with the ground. The experimental analysis of the pressures is lead, in cross-sectional direction, in 5 zones correspondents to the middle of the single dowels constituting the tread. The results are analyzed by means of software predisposed to the scope so as to go back easily to the value of the pressure. The Relationship Between Sleep Characteristics and Unmet Physical Activity Need in Older Women

Objective: We examined among older women the association of sleep quality, daytime tiredness, and sleep duration with unmet physical activity need, that is, wishing to be more physically active but perceiving no opportunity for it. Method: Cross-sectional logistic regression analyses among women aged 74 to 86 years (Finnish Twin Study on Aging, third wave, n = 302). Results: Thirty-one participants reported unmet physical activity need. Short sleepers had fivefold and long sleepers threefold odds for unmet physical activity need compared with normative sleepers, while for daytime tiredness the odds were double. HHV-6 un CCL5 iekaisuma hemokīnu iesaiste autoimūnā tireoidīta attīstībā

Šī darba ietvaros tika pētīta HHV-6 un CCL5 iekaisuma hemokīnu iesaistes loma autoimūnā tireoidīta attīstībā. Pētījumā iesaistīti 60 pacienti ar AIT, kuriem veikta tireoīdektomijas (Thyreoidectomia totalis) operācija, 30 autopsiju paraugi un 30 veseli asins donori kā kontroles grupa. HHV-6 genoma sekvence tika atrasta 59 (98%) AIT pacientiem gan audu, gan asins DNS paraugos un 23 (77%) kontroles grupas pacientiem. Aktīva infekcija tika noteikta 35/59 (59%) AIT pacientu vairogdziedzeru audu paraugos. HHV-6 INFEKCIJA UN IEKAISUMA CITOKĪNU IESAISTE AUTOIMŪNĀ TIREOIDĪTA ATTĪSTĪBĀ

Šī darba ietvaros tika pētīta HHV-6, RANTES hemokīna un IL-6, INF-γ, TNF-α iekaisuma citokīnu iesaistes loma autoimūnā tireoidīta attīstībā. Pētījumā iesaistīti 63 pacienti ar AIT, kuriem tika veikta tireoīdektomija (Thyreoidectomia totalis) un 27 asins donori kā kontroles grupa. HHV-6 genoma sekvence tika detektēta 58 (92%) AIT pacientu audu paraugos, 10 (16%) asins paraugos un 3 (11%) kontroles grupas asins paraugos. Aktīva infekcija tika noteikta 25/58 (43%) AIT pacientu vairogdziedzeru audu paraugos. Šī darba ietvaros tika pētīta 6. herpesvīrusa (HHV-6) infekcijas iespējamā loma autoimūnā tireoidīta (AIT) izraisīšanā. Pētījumā iesaistīti 52 pacienti ar AIT, kuriem veikta tireoīdektomijas (Thyreoidectomia totalis) operācija, 30 autopsiju paraugi un 30 veseli asins donori kā kontroles grupa. DNS no asinīm un audiem tika izdalīts, izmatojot fenola- hloroforma metodi. HHV-6 vīrusu genoma secības klātbūtne asinīs un audos noteica ar polimerāzes ķēdes reakciju ar iekšējo praimerēšanu (nPCR). PCR produkti tika analizēti ar elektroforēzi agarozes gēlā. This study investigated the variation in perceived tiredness among 11, 13 and 15-year-old Finnish adolescents (n = 4187). Additionally interrelationships between sleep habits, use of psychoactive substances (alcohol, tobacco and coffee) and perceived tiredness among 15-year-olds were examined. This study is part of an international, WHO-coordinated survey of school children's health and lifestyle (the HBSC Study). In Finland, research data represented the whole country. The data were collected in March-May 1994. Pupils responded anonymously to a standardized questionnaire during a class period. AbstractThe measurement of rheological properties of the tyre rubber bitumen blends is often challenging due to presence of suspended tyre rubber’s crumbs. Furthermore, the phase separation during the course of measurements makes the viscosity of these non-homogeneous blends difficult to ascertain. In this study, a new dual helical impeller was designed and manufactured to be used with a rotational viscometer in order to have a real-time control of the viscosity while performing a laboratory mixing of the blends. Abstract This Finnish study examines teachers' stress in order to clarify how stress manifests itself and to describe any observed differences in the teachers' background, personality and coping variables. The research design was longitudinal. One hundred and fifty-three teachers made repeated assessments (six in all) of the indicators of stress (subjective mood ratings) by means of questionnaires during the autumn term of 1983. The background variables were based on questionnaire responses gathered in the autumn of 1983.
